My dad and uncles used to do it the exact same way back in the 70's. Now it doesn't get cold enough to safely kill hogs here in Mississippi. Do you have a good sauage recipe? Ours left when my uncle past away. He never told anyone what he put in it. Would love to have some lard. You can't buy good lard aroung here anymore. My wife says if you;re not cooking with lard you're not cooking. Great pictures brings back so many memories. Thanks for sharing.
