Southwest Iowa | It's funny that you should say that, because shortly after I posted my question, I started wondering if Oakville was even located in Wapello county. Guess I should've gotten the map out to check before asking the question.
Tri Oak was basically the only thing in Oakville at that time up and running other than the volunteers and Red Cross at that time. We were there after the river had receded, but it was amazing at how much water would've been covering up that river valley when it was out. I can't even imagine being a home owner and watching that entire event unfold. It's hard for a small town like that to survive without any hurdles, so it really had it's work cut out for it! Haven't heard much about it since we've been there, but I hope things are slowly going back to normal for those folks! | |
