Subject: lasik eye sugery

I've been thinking about having this done to both eyes. I'm 52 years old, presently wear glasses, like to read a lot, do some close hand/mechanic work. presently, my vision in left eye is nearly 20/20 for reading/close up work but needs correction for far vision. Right eye needs some help with both near and far vision. The reason for lasik is my glasses fog up (under my helmet/face shield) so much for me when I snowmobile I have not been wearing my glasses. It's been working , but my eyesight is getting worse over the years. I've tried pretty much all the different face shield/helmet combos. The anti-fog stuff on glasses doesn't work for me. I tried contacts, didn't work for me.

My question is, how light sensitive are your eyes after lasik surgery? From what I've been told, I can either have great near vision, or great far vision.... but not both. I could wear glasses for near vision situation. While my helmet visor is tinted, I'm quite concerned with the bright sunlight on the white snow hurting my eyes. Anyone else have this surgery done?
