We put in the Zodiaq quartz counter tops (smokey topaz color) and couldn't be happier with them. Zero maintenance other than wiping them with a wet rag. Ours were put in about 4.5 years ago. I don't remember the exact number, they were cheaper than granite but still pretty spendy.
When was Formica not good enough?
