Plan a few day layover in the Rockies too. I went west on Via rail then east on the Empire Builder in 2008. except that I was sandwiching 5000 miles of rail travel between LeSeuer and Rollag I should have stopped for a few days at Jasper and then at least that long at Glacier. I'll try to make Glacier my destination this year.
