Those printers draw quite a few amps, especially when powering up. I had the same thing with the lights in my conference room. I have all my printers, etc. in what was designed to be a storage room. I originally just tapped into the light circuit in the room to run the printers, routers, fax server, etc that I have in the room. Turns out that the printers were drawing too many amps for the circuit when my Minolta 2300 series would come out of standby mode. The flourescent conference room lights were the tell tale sign. You might check your circuit for voltage drop when the printer comes off standby or just is starting up to see how strong your circuit is.
Oh and just FYI the part of the printer that "sets" the toner is called the fuser. It was correctly noted here that if the fuser does not get the toner hot enough it will not fuse it to the page. Not a good situation as that loose toner can make quite a mess, as I am guessing some here found. | |
