I'll agree with the repair it now crowd. This is not an oversized, slow, cast iron box on an antique. It's built as cheap and as light as they can make it and probably handles more HP than a farm gearbox ten times it's weight. Fix the seal, check the bearing, clean it out, use the right oil, and even then it might fail in a year or two.
