southern MN | Most industry builds up on river banks. Seems those areas are zoned for such by the smart folk that control such things.
(In Minnesota nearly all landfills are put next to a river or wetlands marsh area - I donno why seems opposite of what one would expect….)
Lot of bulk products used to or may still travel on water, and so processors locate there.
It says a valve was opened on a weekend, could it be sabotage? Often these articles are not well vetted and just assume the news….
Bad deal and we can do better, but it is nitrogen, all in all nature should recover that in time.
