Embarrass WI
I go for a walk for exercise just about every morning, I try to have 5 miles before breakfast. I wear a high visibility yellow jacket that has reflective stripes on it, like a utility worker would wear. Sometimes I have other things going for the day and I have to go in the dark, then I wear a headlight with a bicycle taillight clipped to the back of it. I walk only facing traffic, and get off to the edge of the shoulder when a car comes. I have gotten in the habit of waving for every car I meet, if they wave back I know they've seen me. It's been pretty rare to have one that doesn't wave back but it does happen. I make sure that I am well out of their travel path if they don't see me.

I figure that if someone hits me, they might be able to say that they "didn't see" me, but they won't be able to say they "couldn't see" me.

Every once in a while I see folks walking with their back to traffic and wearing dark clothes. Scares the crap out of me.
