Madison Co. Virginia | One man in particular here probably thought he was doing everything right, but he was actually making the problem worse.
He wore a bright green jacket on his morning walks, which would theoretically make him more visible. His problem was, when a car was approaching, he would stop stock-still on the white line, and stand there like a fence post. The green color blended in with the surrounding landscape, and his complete lack of movement made it very hard to notice him. Several times I was scared at how late I noticed him standing there. If he had kept walking, the movement would have caught my eye more than anything else. | |
