I do something like this. I spend a lot of time moving cows on and off rye. I feel like access to junk hay, and 2 hours of rye grazing is great nutrition. I've never had any nutritional issues with rye, except grass tetany. If an animal looks "off" jump on that immediately. It took losing one to learn that valuable lesson/experience. Just knowing what to look for.
