Subject: RE: Outside views on farmers finances

Melancthon, Ontario
And Johnny paycheque would fall on his face pretty fast. I hired a 'Johnny paycheque' once, talked about how excited he was that farm wages caught up, he grew up on a farm and always dreamed of going back to it. I explained the hour requirements at seeding and harvest and he says 'ya ya ya I understand how farming works'.
Turns out he thought staying 2 hours past 5 was a long day, would be at home for 4 days of rain then figure he should be able to take a nice day next week off etc. Drive the crap out of stuff then shuffle and poke along on foot. He went back to the manufacturing industry as he couldnt handle the randomness of farming and working more than 10 hours in a day.
