Farm bill is very public.  The many, many, many, many small business tax credits, employment credits, preferential loans, and business grants are not nearly as widely publicized and many small business owners don’t know about or pursue them.

A generation ago the big business was in town and the farmer was work alone occupation, now many farms employ as many people or more than the small town business.  Kind of hard to hide a 600K combine, but you can have 600K of industrial or commercial machinery sitting inside your storefront and the passersby don’t see it.
