Subject: RE: Ai syncing lactating cows

high High Colorado
WE HAVE DID A TIMED A.I. FOR THE LAST 6 PLUS YEARS.. and started AI in 1978
Try to do a 100 plus at one time
we do the 7 day ..... shots on the first day with cidiers day 7 we give shots then pull cidiers
Just follow the protcall in all the bull books... last year we did add a Mult vitaim injection on day one ( not sure how much it helped)
WE have Never sorted the calves off for a couple days/// I know some ranches do that... i helped work a neighbors cattle once that did that it was a **** show cows running everywhere tearing down fences

From our experence planning is KEY ......... cows must be in good condition.... good mineral ....
Next good good working corrals and better help......... leave the damn cowboys at the bar as well as the dogs
KEEP CATTLE CALM.....NO CHASING THEM OR YELLING
the last 3 years we have been using a A.I. barn.... Its so nice... We drove 130 miles ( one way) to barrowed one from our select sires rep. Last winter we built one

hope this helps if your getting UNDER a 50-60% breed up. you need to change things
