Part of the problem is in the grand scheme they are never cheap. Calf market drops out from under us and a $1500 bred is going to look cheap but your going to be paying for it with a $800-1000 feeder calf vs a $16-1800 calf.

No one knows when the market will drop, but one tool we didnt have the last time the markets were like this is LRP and being able to protect the price on that calf once it hits the ground.
I'm pretty sure LRP has been around about 20 years.
