Machine hire/ lease 35
Machine repair 45
Machine depreciation 75

If you are implying it takes 155/acre to operate/cover your ground you equipment to crop farm of all things, you deserve to lose money.

1500 acres x 155 = 232500. Really??

No. HuskerJ was saying to add another $130 in IRRIGATION expenses.

I would think that the “climates” and soils are slightly different in IL compared to NE. It would be interesting to know how deep Husker has to pump vs. Thunderstruck as N IL acquifer on the WI line might be a little easier to tap? Who knows…..

I run 2 wells, both on diesel. One is 86 feet, the other 112. Keep in mind, we had an epic drought. I have a dryland hayfield that historically has produced 250 bales first cutting, 180 second, and 140 third made a grand total of 75 bales all last year (2023) and it only made that much because of the tumbleweeds and foxtail. (see another post for rainfall and irrigation story)
