Funny that you mention a trap line. One of the things that my dad did to make money in the late 70s and early 80s was hunt coon and breed coon hounds. His best year he sold 16k worth of coon hides which helped keep my mom at home. He also had a coon hound that had a litter of pups do very well at national trials which ended up kicking his puppy sales into hyperdrive.
