SE IL | Something a JD salesman (and also a friend) told me once that stuck with me is that they don’t set the price of machinery you guys (farmers) do. I believe that is accurate and even more so on land prices. Land is by far the biggest line item on production and machinery is a big one as well. We have much more control over production cost than we think. It’s often said commodities will revert to the COP, but it’s probably just as accurate to say that COP will follow commodity prices. | |
