Central NE | ScottL - 2/17/2024 18:42 Should we plant to get a favorable yield to change market thoughts. We average 31000 on our farm if we all plant 3000 less what effect would it have on markets. Our cost per acre would change a little seed companies would loss a little. Yield would not be 181 What are your thoughts.
I do my part every year. if someone says you go first, I have been for 15 years and lovin it. lower costs, stronger stalks, more drought resistant/ water efficient with fewer plants more profit per acre and less nitrogen need. i love reading the other responses to this thread.
*edit* except Joe R's also, the OPs reference to 181 yield is usda's 2024 average yield estimate, not his own
