This isn't a recommendation, but you did ask for opinions and you're reading Kinsey.

On the first two fields, with the low Mg in the base saturation line, you might consider adding a Mg source. Or, better yet, send some tissue tests in this summer. A single tissue test doesn't necessarily mean a lot, but if you did three from a single field, one week apart, that will tell you if the crop is actually seeing an Mg deficiency or if something else is more important.
And if you did go out there with 100 lbs of K-Mag, I wouldn't get it too close to the field edge. No point in extra fertilizer for the deer.

Just a thought. You're a long ways from me, on very different soil types, so take it for what it's worth.


Thank you for that. Hoping to get some tissue tests this year. Has been an idea, but we just haven't been able to get it done.
Hoping to locate some K-Mag locally. Co-op here doesn't carry it.
