Disagree.

1998 CRP acreage was around 30 million total. 20010 was around 37 million.

World production and the resulting lower prices would occur regardless of a 7 million acre increase in US CRP numbers.

Brazil alone added over 15 million acres of farmland in that time frame. Was gonna happen regardless. CRP have an impact? Not much. Why? Less regulations, cheaper labor allow for lower break evens. The only major headwind Brazil has is storage and shipping.


In terms of US wanting bigger farms I think you would have to talk to John Deere or any equipment manufacturer to assign blame to larger operations.
I know in our own county population went from 16000 in 1920 to 7500 today.
Most of the population went away when the need for horses went away as well. Technology is great ain't it?
