SE Washington | If they are looking to get you to sign a contract, it is pretty common they will pay your legal fees to have a lawyer look at the contract up to a certain dollar amount. I'm in a similar situation to you currently and am talking to a lawyer. He has been involved with farmers and wind projects in the past. He says getting all the neighbors together and doing a meeting can be helpful so they're not all negotiating against each other. Also, he has flipped some of the payment schedules in the past to get large payments up front and less on the back end. He says this is helpful to younger farmers that need capital now. Also if you can get the large up front payments and the project never pans out you come out well ahead. | |
