Subject: RE: what is fair on round baling ?cornstalks

western iowa,by Denison
we are over 9000 on my 568 baler,it has not been a problem -just some normal stuff-we started rolling cornstalks with a 42ft roller -the replacement on rake teeth dropped dramatically along with hardly any baler teeth
We roll 1-10days ahead of the rake, rake 1-3 days ahead of the balers, usually bale after dinner into maybe 7 o clock at nite unless its really dry
i usually chop all the hay so maybe only 200 bales of hay
Had a young guy called tonite and wanted to know if he could also help bale for same money-he is baling, raking and providing net wrap for $13-he has done over 5,000 bales he said this season-geez I remember when I was young and hungry and someone gave me a chance!
