broze26 - 10/24/2023 07:15 I've heard as high as $22/bale for raked and baled around here. taking $3-$4/bale for the raking, $2.50 for net, and $.50 for fuel there'd be around $7 a bale in cost that you are providing the operators. That being said $22 sounds a little high to me but i can see $20 being a real figure for around here.

$22/bale ???     Guys are getting greedy.

At 5 bales per acre thats gonna cost a whole lot more to bale the stalks off the field than it does to combine the corn and haul it away.

Tell me which operation has more $'s in machinery and labor tied up.     With a $70k baler and a $80k tractor pulling it (I see a lot of bales get made with much cheaper tractors than that) you have $150k of equipment and 1 guy.

$10/bale with net, fuel and the raked windrows provided sounds like a pretty good gig when you're kicking out close to a bale/min.
