Subject: RE: How do you tell your dad it's time to stop driving tractor

West of Mpls MN about 50 miles on Hwy 12
A brain tumor ended my dad's driving career. We were lucky and dad decided to quit operating machinery on his own after a $2500.00 mishap with the chisel plow. He decided to quit driving on his own a short time later. This all took place in less than a month.

Dad took my grandpa's operating privileges away after he set throttle at about 3/4 on the 1206, set the disc down, and somehow managed to jam the 1206 into gear without using the clutch and took off discing.

Both grandpa and dad were about 75 when they lost the ability to operate machinery. Grandpa died at 78 and dad died a few days shy of 75.

Good luck, hopefully your dad will make the right decision on his own.
