I would have to say the JD 4840 Power Shift is the worse I have ever owned. It's nick name "power jerk" is well deserved.

Worst driving maybe, but the "solid" shifts make it reliable. no slipping of the clutch packs. at all. lol

I have two buddies that have as many 4840s as I do 7040s. not necessarily comfortable, but cheap and reliable, and that is what pays the bills.
