Steiger Man , I run versatile and you have to have the clutch brake and clutch set right, then it works good, like in a semi truck. what was the twin disk all about if you had good shift cables?

Well we USED to run Versatile. This was a brand new tractor. Not one that had 10,000 hrs on it and would get stuck in two gears at once. There was a thread last week about Versatile manual transmissions going out in 435s. My thought was who the hell was still buying a manual in the 21st century. Versatile made a really good tractor to begin with for a long time but let JD and CIH Steiger overtake them by the 90s. The twin disc in the 8960 didn’t give any issues but starting in first gear every time you stopped was a PITA and it was jerky.
