Sw mn | I had trouble buying my first house in 2000 at the age of 26 because I had zero credit. Never had a car payment or credit card. Drove a ratted out ford ranger with no AC.
Self employed mowing lawns, put down $20,000 on an $86,000 house and got turned down. Stacked it full of roommates and had it paid off in 4 years.
One of my roommates at the time, making around the same money, bought a new ford ranger, $20ish. 2 years later he bought a similar priced house and still doesn’t have it paid off.
First credit card around this place was the one my wife brought with her. I don’t use it. | |
