southern MN | With the high turnover and poor service that results at fast food places these days, and the rapidly increased wages they have offered, the higher cost of the meals, tipping at at a fast food place is a hard no.
I realize they are not getting rich at those jobs, and I realize patrons can be pretty rude of late because of the poor service. It all circles around.
It’s still a fast food joint, no tipping. Sheez.
Wait staff at sit down restaurants used to get well below minimum wage, and depended upon tipping to make a normal wage income. That was the deal.
Those wage rules don’t apply to fast food joints, and recently don’t much apply to sit down restaurants either any more.
There should be less tipping, not more.
