Iowa | I’ve always been told that you tip at places like sit down restaurants- I’ve always been told that most waiters/waitresses only make a few dollars/hr and a lot of their wage is in tips they earn. No problem I’m all for that. However lately the last few times I’ve gone into semi-fast food places the card reader asks for a tip. I’ve got a family of 6, so it isn’t uncommon to have a 60-80 dollar order, so why does a person need $6-10 for punching my order in? It took them 2 minutes. Does this tip get spread among all the people working on my food, or just the order taker? Why am I tipping for service I haven’t even received yet. I also don’t like that you’re putting in an amount in front of them, THEN the food is made -so far I always put something in, but I’m kinda confused as to what to do. | |
