I agree, didnt seem like much for beaches, but i think you could rent a boat (even a boat driver) for cheap and spend a day swimming off the boat. We were there in winter time (my memory fails as to what month), and the locals all thought the water was cold, it was like 66 degrees, which was plenty warm for northern folk (your mileage may vary).
