Wife and I go between Christmas and new year’s. Don’t have kids but see families all the time. We are in the Marathon area. Key west towards evening is probably not kid friendly, that’s when the weirdo’s come out. Kid attractive areas would be the turtle hospital, Theater of the Sea at Islamorada, there is a dolphin park, lots of other nature parks too. Key West during the day has lots to offer too. Kids often freak out when the big cruise ships come into Mallory Square, they tower over even the tallest buildings there. Then there is Hemmingway’s house, the lighthouse, the little White House, southernmost point, shops galore (and bars!). We also see people in the water all the time, but it isn’t always the warmest. You would be there during the busy time so getting into restaurants would often mean an hour or more wait. Traffic can be real slow too. Only one main road and everyone has to use it.
