Subject: can get cold in winter in Florida

Pittsburg, Kansas

Yes, Florida CAN get cold during the winter months. Wife and I years ago did a Bahamas trip that left out of Miami a year when all the orange trees froze. It was friggin cold diving. Not enough wet suit for the weather we anticipated.

That year we decided nothing north of Cancun for winter trips. Summer ok, winter too cold for us. Why we like Bonaire, N.A.. 85 daytime temps in the winter. 90 in the summer.

Not that it is going to be cold in Florida winter in any particular year, but not necessarily toasty warm for swimming either. Different people have different opinions on what is "cold". For swimming and water sports, for me any air temperatures under about 80 or water temperatures under 80-82 is cold. 79 water is 3mil wetsuit weather for me for extended water exposure.
