I didn’t read all the responses but your first chart proves my point Jon. We currently planted 93.3 million acres if we burn 40 % for ethanol that leaves 56 million for feed.

If you want to throw 1/3 back in from distillers it puts you up to 67 million of corn for feed grain.

We only that during the 80’s.


I’m not following you.

If we added 5 byn bu of ethanol.. redirected 0.5 from other.. net 4.5 byn with 1/3 back as ddgs.. then we’ve added a net 3 byn bushels.

However we’ve added almost 15 myn acres x 180 = 2.7 byn bushels.. it’s almost a net wash.. within 300 myn which could be absorbed by other uses.. back to pre ethanol exports and industrial.

Pretty much a wash.
