NE Nebraska | Better to start early to see what all they offer. It gives you the knowledge of what is all available and when. Generally for those with less than a year. Some hospice facilities are for profit and others not for profit, so there are differences. My dad adamantly did not want hospice (or nursing home) because of the fear they would “off” him; however in reality he was already dying (pancreatic cancer) and hospice kept him comfortable during the final dying process. From my understanding when on hospice they will stop all proactive treatment for the disease and other situations that may arise. If treatment is sought then hospice may be denied/removed | |
