| That was my thought.
I inspect every part before I take it home.
They watch me open it right there. Even if it’s an electrical deal.
I’ve found a few things over the years that have been opened and damaged or you could tell they were installed then brought back. For what parts cost at the counter I want new and right.
Now that said I wouldn’t make the dealer come out and replace it but I would expect the part to be replaced for free.
Side story. Rebuilt an engine probably 10 years ago now. Was in a NH8670. Local mechanic did the work. I pulled the engine and took block to him and head to another guy. Got everything back together and I dropped it in. Fired it up and didn’t have oil pressure. Shut it down and put a gauge on it. Sure enough no oil pressure. Even when cranking with fuel shut off so I wouldn’t start. Decided the brand new oil pump was bad. Had to pull the engine again to get to the oil pump. Sure enough the gear spun on shaft. Not mechanics fault. Not my fault. Sometimes you just gotta roll up your sleeves and get we done. Replaced it and had pressure. Freak deal.
