If you are paying $6000 a week for fuel per truck at $5.25 per gallon you are buying about 1150 gallons a week. I get 8 mpg loaded heavy but lets go with 6 mpg you are running 6900 miles. That would be a lot for a team and if you are not making money getting those kinds of miles you have a problem not knowing your costs. It is not all about fuel. If you are needing to cash flow 60 to 90 days you are dealing with the wrong people for your loads. And will be out of business shortly no matter the fuel prices.

hydro 70guy I love it when some one does the math on NAT
MATH gets beyond the hype
Had an Autocar with an 8-71 Detroit many years back 4 MPG was a dream
Have some friends in trucking now (they run a tight ship) 8 MPG+
do VERY accurate aligning on axles
Their tires last FOREVER compared to us farmers ( I will buy any cheap tire) THEY are very particular what tire they buy

Thanks for a working mans prospective

Dan
