Swaledale, IA | By heavy I mean 80,000 when we haul less the mileage goes up. If you are getting 3 or 4 and are talking overweight and specialty loads then that is a whole different discussion than freight rates and fuel costs for truckers. Or if you are talking regular freight then I would think it would be tough to compete only getting 3 mpg. All these newer trucks are getting almost triple that for mileage. Heavy haul involves extra permits and sometimes extra cars and drivers, that sure requires a person to know there costs. | |
