There's a federal limit to hp when pulling - I think it's 4 engines?
No, there is no federal limit. Each RR can put a maximum HP limit on the head end to prevent breaking couplers, but there's no federal law. Generally the rule is written up as a maximum number of powered axles, or a maximum HP/ton limit. Must powered axle limitations pertain to pulling/pushing through switches. |
