Have an 07 Duramax, had a tuner do an "economy" tune last fall. Pre-tune mileage 16.0-16.5mpg, post-tune 16.5-17.0mpg. As you can see, the $300 cost pf this tune will take a while to recover at my useage rate of 30,000 mpy. The truck IS more responsive, BUT, it will be hard to recover the cost of the tune @ $2.20 fuel. I also wonder about the long term effects of higher rail pressures.
