| Sturdy U bolts. I used two 3/4" thick plates and 5/8" bolts instead of U bolts for my front coulters and didn't break any.
Several years ago I tried a no till experiment on a cyclo 400 where I mounted cultivator shanks and shovel in front of each row. I used 5/16" U bolts and broke most of them. The planting came up good, but notill without chemicals didn't work because it rained for three weeks after planting and I couldn't catch up cultivating the weeds out between the rows.
