Sorry you are running into the chain problem. About all I can say is our 3-1/2" extension works on the 7200 and later planter. The cross tube that the chain hits is much farther back on the 7200 and later than the 7000.
You are almost there. I hate to have a chain mess up your plan. Hope you are able to work out an idler solution.
