South-East South Dakota
We Roll before we plant. We plant into fall disked corn stalks. We roll for the rocks and to level the soil some for the planter. Around here some of the rolled stuff is blowing but how can it not the soil is dry as a bone after 36 staight hours of this wind. One thing we did notice though is the mouisture that comes up from below after the roller seals the ground up. This was custom work on ground that was worked twice this spring and then rolled and planted. The roller is a very valuable tool here when used properly. Nice to have some dust to use it in. But after this july type heat and wind we need some rain BAD.
