Subject: RE: mower deck (tips, tricks, and hints needed)

Central Texas , Bastrop county
I have had the same trouble with my Cub cadet zero turn mower. the problem is the design of the deck, the center spindle is not offset far enough ahead to allow longer blades to achieve enough overlap to avoid that skip you see. I helped the problem by getting a set of blades that were too long and cutting them a little at a time till they just barely missed each other, This resulted in maybe a quarter inch longer blades which helped some. As the blades wear they naturally become shorter since the most wear occurs at the tips of the blades.
