southern MN | I grow a few cover crops with my oats - all of 5-15 acres a year.....
How do you grow cover crops with corn or soybeans? Harvest is happening 8 out of 10 years after a hard frost, and planting in spring is happening as soon as the frost is out - and often I'm putting oats in when frost is still deep in the ground, corn goes in these days before the oats field greens up.
Where do you find the openning for a cover crop of any scale in rowcrop farming?
Some have sweetcorn/pea contracts here. A very few grow shorter season corn for silage, but then a year like this, where silage is only first starting around here....
