Subject: Making use of the No-till payment

Western Oregon
The nice lady from the government said the payment was to try to make no-till work in our different situations so I am.
I'm no-tilling fescue into sweet corn stubble. Tomorrow I'm going to try red clover.
Why it won't work.
It is heavy clay river bottom and it will go under water. It is nearly the end of september and not enough growing days left. I won't get the slug bait on it at the right time. I'm doing it on our own farm and not for someone else. I posted pictures of it for other people to see...
But, there is good moisture and plenty of cover to hold the moisture in. Put slug bait on with drill. Should get a chance to irrigate it one more time. I'm pretty confident with the fescue. Not so sure of the clover. Have heard of other people doing this and having it work in our part of Oregon. Would have worked better with an earlier planting I think.
