Western Oregon | There are a lot of very qualified unemployed people around here. Steel mill layoffs, lumber mill layoffs, lots of people out of work who are tired of working for impersonal companies. I've had several people ask about jobs and not object to what we pay. We don't pay a huge amount of money but really try to make up for it in other ways. I just really hate to fire someone who has been here for eight years. In fact I'd pay him more money if he was more reliable. He is getting worse instead of better.
I know there is no way he could get another job in this market and he has rent and child support so pay.
Guess it is not my problem... | |
