Nothing has changed in terms of placing the seed in the ground at a uniform depth since the 7000 also known as Max Emerge. If the planter is in good condition , all parts are available from Deere and many good after market suppliers , your stand will be as good as the newest planter. There are many options available to add for what you may want in terms of no till or fertilizer. You also do not have to be a mechanic to rebuild or work on a planter yourself.
