| Verizon in rural parts of Ohio is by far the best. LG flip phones are usually very solid if you want a small phone. Free is fine. CNET.com will give you cell phone reviews that are usually fairly helpful.
Be careful on phone insurance. Usually there is a 5/mo charge and a $50 deductible. Just know the terms if you opt for insurance. I have never destroyed a phone and now have several perfectly fine older phones that are my "insurance" because they keep offering me phone upgrades for free, but my dad runs over his phone regularly (at least a couple times a year it seems), most recently a week ago, so you just have to know yourself.
