First tractor in the field for me was 1925 John Deere D on steel burning kersone and water after you start it. I did not dare kill it in the field as I was not strong enough to crank it anyway. My father had to help me.. Openong pet roosters and certain proceedures to crank it on gasoline you needed expeirnce to fit the tractor. Hand cranking the later JD s were easier. Gifford
